DPRD Members From PKS Ask Governor Anies Political Parties To Be Allowed To Use JIS For Campaigns
JAKARTA - Member of the DKI DPRD PKS faction, Abdul Aziz, proposed that the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), when operating, could also be used for political campaign activities.
Remembering, said Aziz, that the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium area, Senayan, Central Jakarta was once used for campaigning for political parties and presidential candidates during the 2019 general election.
"We are giving it a chance. I think the DKI Regional Government should give all parties the opportunity to campaign in JIS. As we know, Senayan is also used for that kind of campaign," Aziz told reporters, Tuesday, January 25.
According to Aziz, political parties as part of community groups have the right to use JIS for political activities. This is because the construction of this magnificent stadium was funded by the regional budget.
"This opportunity must be open because the party is part of the community and this JIS was built using public money," said Aziz.
"So, I think this should be considered for the DKI Jakarta Regional Government so that this JIS can be used during the campaign later. Of course with conditions that must be met," he continued.
As is known, the construction project for the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta has reached 93.85 percent in the 123rd week of the current construction implementation.
JIS Project Manager of PT Jakarta Propertindo Arry Wibowo explained that the work that was still being completed was currently on the main stadium and interior tidying of all buildings in the stadium area.
"So, it's almost finished. We are currently still on going to complete some work, especially in the main stadium. Then some other remaining work is tidying up the interior area from floors 1 to 9, there are several parts that we need to tidy up," said Arry when met at JIS, Friday, January 14th.
Arry explained that currently the work on the ETFE membrane roof or transparent roof is being completed, after previously installing a metal sheet roof.
Considering that this FIFA-standard stadium has an open and closed roof feature, it is currently also being worked on for the installation process for the open-closed roof frame.
"Hopefully, when all this work is finished, installed properly, all systems can be tested and can be used in mid-March. The target is that the roof of the stadium can be opened and closed," he said.
"So, in February there will be a soft launching of JIS around the 5th to 12th to hold the International Youth Championship," he explained.
