Hooray! Government Lowered Electricity Rates For Low Voltage Class
JAKARTA - The government, through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), has just stipulated a reduction in the Tariff Adjustment for non-subsidized low-voltage customers of Rp. 22.5 per kWh during the period October to December 2020.
PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) or PLN fully supports the decision to reduce the adjustment rate for low-class customers. With this, the price per KWh for the low tariff, which was previously 1,467 per kWh, has now decreased to 1,444.70 per kWh.
PLN Executive Vice President for Communication and CSR, Agung Murdifi said that the decision to reduce the tariff was taken by the government by considering the economic conditions of the people affected by COVID-19. In addition, as a form of the state, it is here to provide convenience and solutions for electricity customers.
Moreover, said Agung, electricity has become a basic need of society today. All community activities are supported by electricity supply.
"With this decline, the government and PLN want to provide space for lower class customers to use more electricity to support their economic activities and in their daily activities," he said, in a written statement received by VOI, Wednesday, September 2.
Agung said that the tariff reduction for the lower class did not include any conditions. "Please enjoy this rate reduction. And use PLN electricity comfortably and of course safely," he said.
The following are the types of customers who received a reduction in electricity rates:
1. R-1 TR 1.300VA
2. R-1 TR 2,200 VA
3. R-2 TR 3,500 VA-5,500 VA
4. R-3 TR 6,600 VA
5. B-2 TR 6,600 VA-200 kVA
Meanwhile, household customers with 450 VA power get a 100 percent discount or it is free and subsidized 900 VA power household customers get a 50 percent discount which has started since April 2020.
"In addition, relief is also provided for small business customers with 450 VA power and small industry with 450 VA power with a 100 percent discount," he explained.
