Avoid Panic Buying, Pasar Jaya Limits Purchases Of Fried Oil For A Maximum Price Of Two Liters

JAKARTA - Perumda Pasar Jaya limits the purchase of cooking oil in all food outlets managed by the DKI BUMD to a maximum of two liters.

General Manager and Public Relations of Perumda Pasar Jaya, Gatra Vaganza, said that the restriction on the purchase of cooking oil at a price of Rp. 14,000 per liter was intended to prevent public panic buying.

"To prevent panic buying, at all outlets, we limit the sale of one customer to a maximum of two liters of cooking oil at a price of Rp. 28,000 per two liters," said Gatra in a statement, Monday, January 24.

Gatra explained, there are a number of brands that are usually sold at food outlets. The brands of cooking oil sold include Garing, Filma, Tropical, Foodstation, and Gurih.

"The public can directly come to all food outlets managed by Pasar Jaya to buy the cooking oil," said Gatra.

The price of cooking oil sold, continued Gatra, is in accordance with the retail price recommended by the government. This price itself has fallen, where on the previous day it was observed for crisp cooking oil of IDR 37,900 per two liters and tropical cooking oil of R40,000 per two liters.

"For our food outlets, we are open from 09.00 WIB to 17.00 WIB every day, we hope that the people who come continue to pay attention to the health protocols that apply in all of our outlets while shopping," he explained.

It is known that the one-price cooking oil is regulated in the Minister of Trade Regulation (Permendag) Number 03 of 2022 concerning the Provision of Packaged Cooking Oil for Community Needs in the Financing Framework by the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS). This policy is effective from January 19, 2022.
