Anticipating Full Referral Hospital For Patients, COVID Task Force Maximizes Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital Kemayoran
JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, did not deny that there had been an increase in the number of cases used for COVID-19 patients in the DKI Jakarta area. He said, currently the percentage of use of beds and isolation rooms for COVID-19 patients in Jakarta has reached 69 percent.
"It was recorded that on August 28, the percentage of use of isolation beds reached 69 percent. Meanwhile, the percentage of use of ICU beds from 67 referral hospitals in Jakarta on August 28 was 77 percent," said Wiku in a press conference broadcast online. on the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account, Tuesday, September 1.
In order to prevent congestion at the referral hospital, continued Wiku, the COVID-19 Handling Task Force has plans to transfer patients with mild to moderate cases to the Wisma Atlet Hospital, Kemayoran, Jakarta.
With this transfer, it is hoped that the number of use of beds in isolation and ICU rooms can be reduced to below 60 percent. In addition, by relocating patients with milder symptoms, the ICU and isolation rooms can be used for other COVID-19 patients who need more intensive care and assistance.
"Likewise, for those who are positive with mild symptoms, they can be treated at Wisma Atlet Hospital and centralized independent isolation is also placed at Wisma Atlet Hospital if there is no independent isolation for the community," said Wiku.
A similar sentiment was also conveyed by the Head of the DKI Jakarta Health Service, Widyastuti. To maintain the availability of mattresses in the isolation room and ICU, the DKI Jakarta Health Office has divided patients according to their conditions. For those with mild symptoms, he said, they could carry out independent isolation at the Wisma Atlet Hospital, Kemayoran.
"Meanwhile, those who are having a hard time are only doing it in the hospital. So that it can reduce dependence on the bed," said Widyastuti to reporters in Jakarta.
He said that currently the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has carried out mitigation to overcome the lack of available mattresses if the COVID-19 number continues to increase. According to him, the provincial government has coordinated with seven referral hospitals and the Wisma Atlet Kemayoran Hospital. As a result, currently the problem of medical devices and rooms is sufficient.
"Room and medical equipment are sufficient. The bed is adequate. Only human resources (human resources). That's why we are recruiting and now, later, in the next week there will be 1,800 workers who are ready," he concluded.
