The Question Of Timor Leste Being A Candidate Against The Indonesian National Team In The Trial Match: Sorry, To Be Honest, It's Not Too Good

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team will play a test match against Timor Leste on the FIFA Matchday agenda at the end of January. Ahead of the match, the Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong thought that Timor Leste was not a good opponent.

Shin Tae-yong revealed that he did not really understand Timor Leste's performance. The South Korean coach only saw the match between Fabio Magrao's team in the Southeast Asian international championship late last year.

"Sorry, to be honest, Timor Leste is not very good. I only watched the match in the AFF Cup," Shin said in an interview on the PSSI YouTube channel.

In that match, Timor Leste was placed at the bottom of Group A of the AFF Cup. Of the four opportunities to appear, Timor Leste did not get anything.

Apart from the above notes, in the trial match, Timor Leste will bring 27 players under the age of 23 years. These players will be deployed to face the Garuda Squad.

The Indonesia vs Timor Leste national team match will take place twice, the first on January 27 and followed by the second match on January 30. The meeting, which will be held at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Bali, is a preparation for the Indonesian national team for the 2022 AFF U-23 Cup which will take place in Cambodia next month.

In the 2022 AFF Cup group stage match, the Indonesian and Timor Leste national teams will be in different groups. The Garuda squad is in Group B along with Malaysia, Myanmar and Laos. While Timor Leste occupies Group A with Cambodia, the Philippines, and Brunie Darussalam.
