Dismissed Appointment Of Political Strategic Command, PDIP Politicians: It's According To Procedure, Maruli Achieves
JAKARTA - Member of Commission I of the DPR from the PDIP Faction, TB Hasanuddin, said the appointment of Major General (Mayjen) Maruli Simanjuntak to be the Commander of the Army Strategic Reserve Command (Pangkostrad) was in accordance with the procedure.
He dismissed the politicized Maruli appointment. It is known, Maruli is the son-in-law of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
"I don't see it (political, ed) because it has complied with the correct procedures," said TB Hasanuddin at the DPR building, Monday, January 24.
According to the PDIP politician, Maruli is an outstanding soldier with a lot of experience. Therefore, family background is no longer in the spotlight.
"I don't think this is what the focus is on which family. For example, General Maruli was Paspampres, once Danrem then served quite well in the Kopassus unit, then became commander of the Kodam," explained the TNI Major General,
"So it has fulfilled the requirements to be promoted from a two-star general to a three-star general with a strategic position. I don't see anything else," he continued.
TB Hasanuddin emphasized that Maruli's appointment was based on a decree dated January 21.
"That there have been several promotions from high-ranking TNI officers, one of which is Pak Agus to be the Army Chief of Staff and Pak Maruli to the Commander of Kostrad and this has gone through a good and correct procedure," he explained.
"The commander in chief has decided according to their track record and experience, they also have achievements that meet the requirements for that," said TB Hasanuddin.
It is known in a written statement from the TNI Information Center that the appointment of Maruli as Pangkostrad is stated in the Decree of the Position of 328 TNI High Officers number 66 of 2022.
Prior to his appointment as Pangkostrad, Maruli was the Commander of the IX/Udayana Military Region (Pangdam).
