6 Weeks After Stopping Being A Stripper, Vanessa Demopoulos Wins First Victory At UFC

JAKARTA - UFC fighter, Vanessa Demopoulos, got an important victory in the octagon on Saturday night. He won the victory after defeating Silvana Gomez Juarez.

Demopoulos appeared against Juarez in the second match of the early preliminary card session to open the fierce duel of Francis Ngannou vs Ciryl Gane. Demopoulos' decision to focus on the octagon paid off.

The 33-year-old mixed martial artist won easily in the first round. This success is interesting because she got only six weeks after she decided to quit her profession as a stripper.

"I don't think it's a secret, I was an exotic entertainer for 13 years," said Demopoulos as quoted from the Daily Star.

Demopoulos signed a contract as well as promotion last year, but lost his debut bout against JJ Aldrich.

After appearing in Dana White's Challenger Series and losing, he decided to quit as the “exotic entertainer” he had been with for 13 years.

He made the decision to quit so he could have full focus ahead of his training camp. It turned out that the choice was sweet fruit with the first victory he won.

"I don't have to say it into the microphone, but I want to say it now: I've left the stripper profession to continue this training camp," she said.

“I stopped dancing about six to eight weeks ago just so I could fully focus on MMA.”
