Police Steps To Safeguard The 2020 Pilkada Simultaneous Process

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Idham Aziz ordered all his staff to hold Operation Mantap Praja 2020. The order was related to the registration stage for simultaneous regional head election (Pilkada) candidates.

This order is contained in the Secret Telgram Letter (STR) Number 387 / VI / OPS / 13/2020, dated June 30, 2020.

"Of course, in this case the National Police, especially Polda and Polres, have prepared themselves for the success and smoothness of the 2020 Pilkada," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono to reporters, Tuesday, September 1.

Operation Mantap Praja, said Awi, will begin on September 3. In this activity, the Chief of Police, said Awi, asked to highlight the health protocol. This is because the 2020 Pilkada was held in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The National Police Chief has also ordered the entire National Police to always be ready to face any situation in the success of the 2020 regional elections," said Awi.

For your information, at the stage of registration of pairs of candidates and the stage of determining the drawing of serial numbers and declarations, the number of personnel to be involved is at least one third of the operating force. Then, for the campaign phase, personnel were alerted to half of the operating force.

Furthermore, in the quiet period stage, the personnel involved should be at least one fifth of the operating force. The voting stage, a minimum assignment of two thirds of the operating force.

Meanwhile, for the vote counting stage, at least one sixth of the operating strength. The stage of determining the elected candidate, at least one third of the personnel alerted of the operating force.

At the stage of filing a General Election Result Dispute (PHPU), a minimum of one sixth of the operating force is assigned. Finally, at the induction stage, a minimum assignment of one third of the operating force.
