Who Is Maruli Simanjuntak, The Son-in-law Of Luhut Panjaitan Who Was Appointed To Be The Kostrad Commander?

JAKARTA - TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa has officially appointed TNI Major General Maruli Simanjuntak as Commander of the Army Strategic Reserve Command (Pangkostrad).

In this position, as of January 21, 2022, Maruli replaced Lt. Gen. Dudung Abdurrachman who had officially served as Army Chief of Staff (KSAD).

Compiled from various sources, Maruli is a high-ranking Indonesian Army officer born February 27, 1970 in Bandung, West.

He is married to Paulina Pandjaitan, the daughter of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. From his marriage, the son-in-law of Luhut Panjaitan was given two children by God.

A graduate of the Military Academy in 1992, he started his position as Commander of the Cakra Combat Detachment in 2022.

Then, Maruli served as an Intermediate Assistance Officer for Kopassus Operations from 2005 to 2008, and a Battalion Commander (Danyon) 21 Group 2/Sandi Yudha from 2008 to 2009.

Furthermore, Maruli was the Commander of the Pusdikpassus Command School from 2009 to 2010, Deputy Commander of Group 1/Para Command from 2010 to 2013, Commander of Group 2/Sandi Yudha from 2013 to 2014.

His career was getting brighter, Maruli was then appointed as Operation Assistant to the Danjen Kopassus in 2014. Then, he served as Commander of Group A Paspampres from 2014 to 2016, Commander of Korem 074/Warastratama from 2016 to 2017.

Promoted, Maruli entered as Deputy Commander of the Presidential Security Forces (Wadanpaspampres) from 2017 to 2018, Chief of Staff of the Regional Military Command (Kasdam) IV/Diponegoro in 2018, and Commander of the Presidential Security Forces (Danpaspampres) in 2018-2020.

Furthermore, this two-star TNI general had served as Commander of the IX/Udayana Regional Military Command (Pangdam) in 2020-2022, before finally being appointed as the current Pangkostrad.
