Ombudsman Says There Is Potential For Maladministration On Arteria Dahlan's Number Plates

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Ombudsman Mokh Najih said there was potential for maladministration in the police regarding the special police number plates used on a number of vehicles belonging to council member Arteria Dahlan.

"There is potential for maladministration in the police," Najih said when confirmed in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, January 21.

According to Najih, the potential for maladministration if the level of urgency and the need for the use of the police number plates is not appropriate. Normatively the use of the vehicle number is like this.

Specifically for the National Police, TNi is a number given because of its specificity as an official, just like a government car with a red plate. Vehicles with special plates may not be used by people who are not on duty at the institution, including the Police, TNI and the like.

"Except for the special service number which is black," he said.

In the case of Arteria Dahlan, Najih said it was necessary to investigate whether the person concerned used a vehicle belonging to the Police inventory for certain purposes.

According to him, the Arteria Dahlan plate is not used properly, because the number plate is for an inventory vehicle belonging to the police or the police service. Especially if you use more than one vehicle.

"If it is proven that he gave the register in the name of the person concerned, there is the potential for maladministration in the police," said Najih.

Previously, the Head of the Information Bureau of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Pol Ahmad Ramadhan said that the license plate number 4196-07 was for the Mitsubishi Pajerp Sport Dakar vehicle on behalf of Arterial Dahlan.

"Based on the results of data collection at the Inventory Section of the Police Slog Pal Bureau for Police Number 4196-07, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Dakar is assigned to the owner of H Arterial Dahlan, ST, SH, MH / DPR RI," said Ramadhan.
