3 Soldiers Victims Of The Shooting At Maybrat West Papua Treated At KRI Dr Soeharso-990
SORONG - The three Indonesian Army soldiers who were victims of shootings by an armed group in Maybrat Regency, have been transferred to Sorong, West Papua. The victims were operated on to remove the remains of the bullet projectiles from their bodies on the hospital ship, KRI dr Soeharso-990, which docked at Sorong Harbor.
The three were Second Sergeant Darusman, Second Private Aziz Rengen, and Second Private Abraham. Darusman had a gunshot wound to the left abdomen but was conscious, Rengen had a serious gunshot wound to the back but was conscious.
Then Abraham had gunshot wounds to the right shoulder, left and left groin while conscious, and Private Two Odeng was hit by shrapnel in the right thigh.
The Head of Information for Kodam XVIII/Kasuari, Lieutenant Colonel Arm Hendra Pesireron, as reported by Antara, Friday, January 21, confirmed that they were being treated intensively at KRI dr Soeharso-990, which has complete medical facilities and qualified doctors and nurses, in Sorong.
He said that the three soldiers of the Indonesian Army were shot by armed groups with separatist tendencies in Faankahrio Village, East Aifat District.
The incident occurred while they were working on building two bridges at the request of the Maybrat Regency Government, so that residents who fled after the attack by armed groups in the Kisor incident could immediately return to their hometowns.
The three TNI AD personnel who became victims were part of the 762/VYS Infantry Battalion and the 20th Combat Engineer Battalion/PPA.
From that incident, one soldier died, namely Second Sergeant Miskel Rumbiak, who came from Raja Ampat.
