KPK Warns NTB Provincial Government About Land Leasing In Gili Trawangan Tourism Area: Don't Break The Law
MATARAM - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has issued a warning to the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Government regarding the leasing of regional assets in the form of land used for the management of PT Gili Trawangan Indah (GTI), in the tourist area of Gili Trawangan, North Lombok Regency.
Director of Coordination and Supervision for Region V KPK Budi Waluya said his party reminded the NTB Provincial Government to process the asset rental according to the rules.
"Don't let the (land lease) process violate the rule of law," Budi emphasized, quoted by Antara, Friday, January 21.
He also reminded that the lease of the land must be processed transparently. Hopefully it doesn't lead to nepotism or dowry in the provision of rent.
"Don't let it be like that (nepotically). It must still be based on the rule of law. Don't deviate from the existing rules," he said.
According to the regulation, the period for granting leases to the assets of the NTB Provincial Government is five years. Can be extended once for the next five years.
Regarding this rental, Budi emphasized that the KPK would coordinate with the NTB Provincial Government. The KPK will also monitor its progress so that nothing deviates from the rules.
"Because the KPK's task is also to safeguard assets, we will monitor and coordinate with the NTB Provincial Government," he said.
There is further news regarding the community in Gili Trawangan who signed a contract with the NTB Provincial Government, requesting the issuance of a Certificate of Ownership (SHM) on the land. Related to that, Budi will also carry out monitoring. "We will monitor it," he said.
He also reminded that government land should not be converted into SHM because it violates the law. "If there is a SHM, it can enter the realm of crime, that's what we prevent," he said.
Previously, the land had been in cooperation with PT Gili Trawangan Indah (GTI) since 1995. With a contract value of IDR 22.5 billion per year.
This is not comparable to the economic income in Gili Trawangan with what the NTB Provincial Government currently receives. Based on a review of the DJKN Bali Regional Office, Nusra stated that the economic turnover on land managed by PT GTI could reach Rp. 2.3 trillion.
Therefore, a review was carried out and an addendum to the NTB Provincial Government contract with PT GTI was carried out. However, when the discussion of the addendum reached a dead end. The NTB provincial government also terminated the contract with PT GTI.
