Castrovilli Is An Alternative For Inter If Vidal Is Difficult To Recruit
JAKARTA - Inter Milan are considering signing Gaetano Castrovilli on loan. This is done if they fail to bring in Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal.
A report in the Libero-based newspaper Milano detailed that the Nerazzurri are still focusing their full attention on Vidal who is likely to leave Los Blaugrana. Vidal complains about unpaid bonuses from last season.
However, if the deal doesn't materialize, then the Nerazzurri are considering Fiorentina's creative midfielder Castrovilli as an alternative.
Key to the deal highlighted in the report is Italy forward Matteo Politano. Fiorentina are interested in the 26-year-old striker who failed to convince coach Antonio Conte of his quality this season at Milan.
Because of this, Inter could just send Politano to Fiorentina as a replacement for Castrovilli on loan. However, it opens up the possibility of signing the 22-year-old Italian midfielder permanently next season.
As for Politano, recently posted a photo on his Instagram page. The photo shows the Nerazzurri squad having just finished their first training session after the Christmas break.
Politano posted a photo with the caption: "Back on the pitch, win straight away!"
Politano, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, has struggled to secure a regular place under Conte this season, due to his slow adaptation to the Italian coach's tactical system.
During his loan spell at La Beneamata last season, Politano scored 10 goals in 36 league games. But after his status was permanent this summer, he only entered the line-up twice.
Currently, Fiorentina is managed by Giuseppe Iachini, who collaborated with Politano at Sassuolo in the 2017-2018 season before the winger was finally borrowed by Inter. Even though the coach admits that he wants a reunion with his former foster children, is it possible that he is willing to lose Castrovilli?
