Convicts Who Have Run Away Since 2019 In Gunungkidul Arrested, 'provoked' With Promised Woman At Restaurant
GUNUNGKIDUL - The Gunung Kidul District Attorney, Yogyakarta Special Region, has re-arrested a theft and embezzlement convict on behalf of Dika Ratnasari who escaped in 2019.
"We re-arrested escaped convict Dika Ratnasari on Thursday (20/1) around 8:15 pm in Bekasi, West Java," said Gunungkidul Kejari Chief Ismaya Hera Wardanie in Gunungkidul, quoted by Antara, Friday, January 21.
He said that the re-arrest of Dika Ratnasari, who was on the People's Wanted List (DPO) would take one month. The process has been carried out since last December.
Before being arrested in Bekasi, Dika Ratnasari had moved from location to location. The cell phone numbers of the convicts also change frequently, making it quite difficult for the Kejari team. "You could say the convicts are very good at avoiding arrest," he said.
Ismaya said that with Dika Ratnasari's character who was good at avoiding arrest, when officers found Dika Ratnasari in Bekasi, they could not immediately arrest him.
"The arrest was only made when the woman was lured out of the boarding house to meet at a restaurant," he said. He said that with the arrest of Dika Ratnsasari, the Gunungkidul Kejari would hand him back to the Yogyakarta Class II B Women's Correctional Institution in Wonosari. Dika Ratnasari has been sentenced to 1 year and 1 month in prison.
As for the negligent guard that made Dika Ratnasari run away in 2019, Ismaya said the person concerned had received disciplinary sanctions. The sanctions were given after being handled by the High Prosecutor's Office to the Attorney General's Office.
"The sanction is in the form of a severe penalty of demotion to a lower level. The sanction is given for 3 years," he said.
