Defeated By The Host's Representative In Straight Sets, Christopher Rungkat Lifts The Suitcase From The 2022 Australian Open

JAKARTA - The journey of the Indonesian tennis player, Christopher Rungkat, in the 2022 Australian Open must stop in the second round of the men's doubles. He was eliminated with his Filipino co-star, Treat Huey.

The tennis player who was born in Jakarta 32 years ago gave up in straight sets 6-7(8), 4-6, at Melbourne Park, Friday, January 21. Rukat/Huey lost to the home pair, Li Tu/Dane Sweeny.

Rungkat and his co-stars came to this year's Australian Open with a status of 150's. The mainstay of Indonesia's tennis player is ranked 152, while his playing partner is ranked 137th.

They made it through the first round after winning three sets over Rohan Bopanna (India) and Eduard Roger-Vasselin (France). However, the success in the first round they did not manage to repeat.

In the match against the hosts' representatives in the second round, Rungkat/Huey had a great chance to win the first set. Unfortunately, they could not maintain the 5-3 advantage they had and had to give up through the tie break.

In the second set, Rungkat/Huey who had been left behind 5-1 managed to get up and reduce the score to 4-5. However, one forehand from the host pair managed to end the match in 1 hour 20 minutes.
