Arsenal And Juventus Negotiations For Arthur Melo Deadlocked, The Gunners Refuse To Increase The Loan Duration To 18 Months
JAKARTA - The negotiation process between Arsenal and Juventus to bring in midfielder Arthur Melo is still at a stalemate after the Gunners were only willing to offer a loan with a duration of six months.
Quoted by Antara from football-italy, Thursday, Arsenal are reluctant to increase the duration of the loan to 18 months or include a purchase obligation clause which makes Juventus still not willing to release Arthur Melo.
Arthur Melo's side, reportedly both clubs, immediately agreed on a move, and he believes he will get more playing time at Arsenal than he got during his time at Juventus.
In addition, it is reported that Arthur Melo's agent, Federico Pastorello, has come to Arsenal's headquarters and met with the top brass of the Gunners to discuss his client's move, Wednesday afternoon local time.
Arthur Melo is also rumored to have been looking for a house for him to live in in London if he finally officially arrives at Arsenal, but so far no agreement has been reached between the two clubs.
Although they have not released Arthur Melo to Arsenal, Juventus are reportedly already looking for a replacement for the Brazilian midfielder by planning to recall Nicolo Rovella from his loan period at Genoa.
Arthur Melo came to Juventus from Barcelona in the summer of 2020, after the two clubs agreed to a player swap, in which the Blaugrana got the services of Bosnian Miralem Pjanic.
During a year and a half with Juventus, Arthur Melo appeared in 46 games for the Bianconeri in various competitions and scored one goal and one assist.
