Examined By The AGO, Djoko Tjandra Admits That Prosecutor Pinangki Is Not Bribed

JAKARTA - Djoko Tjandra, a suspect in a case of alleged bribery for fatwa processing at the Supreme Court (MA) so that he would not be executed in the case of transfer of collection rights to Bank Bali, denied giving money to prosecutor Pinangki Sirna Malasari. Djoko Tjandra was questioned by 40 questions about the alleged bribery that made him a suspect at the AGO.

"Never gave (money) to Pinangki, never. What is certain is that Pak Djoko has never given it to Pinangki," said Djoko Tjandra's lawyer, Krisna Murti, to reporters, Monday, August 31.

In the investigation which lasted for about 6 hours, Djoko Tjandra, according to the lawyer, also explained that the prosecutor Pinangki offered the fatwa arrangement at the Supreme Court. The lawyer emphasized that Djoko Tjandra was not the party who took the initiative in arranging the fatwa.

"Pinangki offered to his client that he had a team to administer the fatwa," said Krisna.

Attorney General's Office, Djoko Tjandra, was named a suspect for allegedly giving bribes to prosecutor Pinangki Sirna Malasari.

Djoko Tjandra allegedly asked for assistance in processing a fatwa from the Supreme Court (MA) so that he would not be executed in the Bank Bali collection rights case.

"The suspects are suspected of having committed an act that has to do with administering a fatwa. About the JST suspect (Joko Soegiarto Tjandra), how do you get a fatwa so that he doesn't get executed. So the conspiracy is not to be executed by the prosecutor, asking for a fatwa to the Supreme Court, "said Kapuspenkum AGO Hari Setiyono, Thursday, August 27.

It is suspected that the attempt to obtain a fatwa to the Supreme Court occurred between November 2019 and January 2020. From the results of the investigation, it is known that the attempt to request a fatwa so that Djoko Tjandra would not be executed failed.

"It didn't work out," said Hari.

Regarding the effort to arrange a fatwa to the Supreme Court so that he would not be executed, Djoko Tjandra allegedly gave money which was later allegedly used by prosecutor Pinangki to buy a luxury BMW car.

This fact is obtained from an examination of the Sales of PT. Astra International BMW sales Operation Branch Cilandak Yenny Pratiwi. This examination was carried out on Wednesday, August 26th.
