History, LeBron James Makes 10,000 Rebounds Throughout His NBA Career
JAKARTA - Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James continues to strengthen his title as one of the best players in the history of the American Basketball League (NBA).
Most recently he managed to carve a record as the 42nd player who managed to carve out 10,000 rebounds.
This record was obtained by LeBron James when his team lost 114-104 when they met the Indiana Packers, Thursday, January 20, at Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles, United States.
In this match, the 37-year-old basketball player managed to make a double-double of 30 points and 12 rebounds. An additional 12 rebounds made him a total of 10,002 rebounds in his long career in the NBA.
This achievement made LeBron the first player in NBA history to collect at least 30,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 9,000 assists.
Unfortunately, the record that was inscribed by LeBron James could not give the Lakers victory. The defeat made the Lakers even more difficult to get to the top of the Western Conference.
LeBron James is one of three active players with 10,000 rebounds. The other two players were LeBron's teammates, Dwight Howard and DeAndre Jordan.
Howard currently has recorded 14,464 rebounds. He moved up to tenth place overtaking Nate Thurmond with the same total rebounds.
Meanwhile Kevin Garnett with a total of 14,662 filled the ninth place. The player with the most rebounds in NBA history is still held by Wilt Chamberlain with 23,924 rebounds.
