Starting To Panic Buying Even Though The Price Of Cooking Oil Is IDR 14,000 / Liter, Alfamart Is Now Immediately Limiting Purchases

JAKARTA - Alfamart has limited the purchase of cooking oil, which is now at a price of Rp. 14,000 per liter. Now it is only allowed to have a maximum of two packages and a maximum of 2 liters of cooking oil so that there is no wholesale action carried out by the community in several modern retail stores in Jember Regency, East Java.

"Currently, I don't think that Alfamart is the only one whose cooking oil is being invaded by consumers, but almost all modern stores that apply the one-price cooking oil policy," said Alfamart Jember Branch Manager Suriadi when contacted by telephone in Jember, Thursday, January 20, as reported by Antara.

Alfamart provides cooking oil at a price of IDR 14,000 per liter and the cooking oil is available starting January 19, 2022 according to the "One Price Cooking Oil" program based on the Ministry of Trade's policy so that retailers can sell cooking oil both premium packaging and simple packaging at the equivalent price of IDR 14. 000 per liter.

"We urge consumers to buy as needed, so that the goal of one price can be achieved, namely distribution to final consumers evenly, so there is no need to take wholesale actions," he said.

He said the price applies to all brands and packaging of cooking oil, so retailers can supply goods to stores according to their needs.

"There are deliveries to stores every day and some every 2 days. Purchases of cooking oil cannot be bought because Alfamart limits purchases to each consumer," he said.

The government also guarantees the stock, so that consumers do not need to panic buy and are advised to buy cooking oil according to their needs so that all people can meet their needs for cooking oil.

Based on field observations, cooking oil in several Alfamart Jember stores has been empty since the one-price policy was implemented on Wednesday (19/1) because it has been overrun by consumers, even though there have been restrictions on purchases.
