Police Check Ustaz Mizan Suspect Video Talk Related To The Ancestral Shrine In Lombok
MATARAM - Cyber Investigators of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Police have examined Ustaz Mizan as a suspect in hate speech.
Investigators asked 19 questions about a video clip of his 19-second lecture which was alleged to have discredited the sacred tombs of the ancestors on the island of Lombok.
"There were almost 19 questions that the investigators asked Pak Ustaz. Regarding the video (a 19-second lecture video)," said Ustaz Mizan's lawyer, Apriadi Abdi Negara, quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 20.
Apriadi said Ustaz Mizan had no intention or purpose to cloud the atmosphere of harmony in the community.
Ustaz Mizan also didn't know who dared to throw a tantrum by spreading the 19-second video clip to cause a reaction in the community.
Apriadi also assured that the 19-second video was an excerpt from a 1 hour 2 minute 59 second YouTube content show featuring Ustaz Mizan's lecture in a recitation forum on November 13, 2020.
Apriadi also said that the recording did not come from Ustaz Mizan personally. Even Ustaz Mizan did not intend to take advantage.
"So it's an old video, two years ago, in 2020 to be exact, and the footage was uploaded January 1, 2022. Now, who posted the video clip, so that it created a bad perception for the community, we don't know yet," he said. .
In this case, it was emphasized that Ustaz Mizan would continue to cooperate. He chose to secure himself to the police to prevent conflicts from continuing in the community.
"That's why he wasn't detained, because he was cooperative and Pak Ustaz was the first to ask for police custody. Since the commotion occurred, Pak Ustaz has apologized," he said.
The Cyber Investigation Team of the NTB Police Ditreskrimsus named Ustaz Mizan as a suspect.
The stipulation refers to Article 14 Paragraph 1, 2 and Article 15 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1/1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations and or Article 28 Paragraph 2 Juncto Article 45 Paragraph 2 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 19/2016 concerning Amendments to Law RI Number 11/2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions.
Ustaz Mizan was named a suspect for alleged hate speech in a video clip of his 19-second lecture. In the video, there are words that allegedly discredit the sacred tombs of the ancestors on the island of Lombok.
The video of Ustaz Mizan's lecture that was spread on social media also sparked a reaction in the community. In the early hours of Sunday, January 2nd, an unidentified mob carried out an anarchic act by destroying a number of As-Sunnah Islamic Boarding School facilities in Bagek Nyaka, Aikmel District, East Lombok Regency.
Following this reaction, on Monday, January 3, Ustaz Mizan was reported by a community group regarding an alleged violation of the Law on Information and Electronic Transactions to the NTB Police.
