Osamu Entero Former Boss Mitsuhishi Passes Away
JAKARTA - Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) is in mourning. Former chairman of Mitsubishi Motors Corp, Osamu Masuko, died of heart failure.
He passed away after stepping down from his role as CEO of Mitsubishi earlier this month due to health issues. Osamu Masuko died at the age of 71 on August 27.
"Announcing that Osamu Masuko, special adviser and former chairman of the board of directors, representatives of executive officers, died of cardiac insufficiency," said Takao Kato representative executive officer, chief executive officer, MMC, Monday, August 31.
Mitsubishi Motors also said a private funeral would be carried out by a close family member. In order to respect the late Masuko's wishes, MMC stated that it would not hold a farewell gathering.
Osamu Masuko was born on February 19, 1949, graduated from the Faculty of Political Science and Economics, Waseda University in 1972. In the same year he started working at Mitsubishi Corporation.
Nikkei explained that Masuko is a veteran at the Mitsubishi Corporation conglomerate group company. He joined Mitsubishi in 2004, then became President of Mitsubishi Motors in 2015 and many years after.
During his tenure as president and CEO, Masuko led the company in a variety of areas, including the introduction of EV and PHEV environmentally friendly vehicles, as well as expanding production and sales in the ASEAN region.
