JAKARTA - Gorontalo Provincial Government reminds the public not to be fooled by parties acting on behalf of Gorontalo Governor Rusli Habibie, because the governor's contact number has been hacked.

Gorontalo Provincial Government Public Relations Bureau Head Masran Rauf, Monday, said that the governor's WhatsApp messaging application number 0813-1342-4131 could no longer be accessed.

"Currently, the governor's cellphone number, which is usually announced in newspapers and social media to serve communication with the public, has been hacked by irresponsible people. We hope that people will be more careful when receiving messages from this number, let alone promising and asking for money and so on. , "he said in Gorontalo, reported by Antara, Monday, August 31.

He explained that the hacking case was being investigated by the police headquarters cyber crime team.

This number has not been used for either telephone or messaging purposes.

"If there are people who have an urgent need to meet with the governor, they can contact the adjutant's number or to me as the Public Relations Officer at 0811-4315-227," he said.

He added that this case of cybercrime on behalf of Rusli Habibie is not the only time this has happened.

Several Facebook accounts that self-described themselves several times successfully deceived a number of victims.

However, these accounts were not created and were not used by the governor.
