Indonesian Navy Marines Patrol Border Marks On Sebatik Island
JAKARTA - The personnel of the 2nd Marine Corps of the Indonesian Navy who are members of the Ambalat Task Force XXVII carry out patrols of stakes 7 to 17 on the Indonesia-Malaysia border on Sebatik Island, Nunukan, North Kalimantan.
The Commander of the Ambalat XXVII Marine Task Force, Marine Captain Cilvo Dwi Setiawan, said that patrols would be carried out continuously during assignments at national borders.
"This is also for the sake of the integrity and sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 19.
The patrolling of river posts by 2 Marine Posts, namely for border stakes 7 to 12 carried out by eight personnel from the Tembaring Marine Post led by the Post Commander, Marine Second Lieutenant Adam Bahari Setiawan.
Meanwhile, stakes 13 to 17 were carried out from the Sei Bajau Post as well as eight personnel led by Marine Second Lieutenant Tri Candra.
During the inspection of boundary markers, he said, soldiers of the Ambalat Marine Task Force XXVII faced challenging terrain because some of the stakes could not be passed easily.
"Soldiers must pass through the mangroves. However, this does not dampen the enthusiasm of the Satgasmar Ambalat XXVII soldiers to carry out patrols, which are the main tasks of the Task Force," he said.
Meanwhile, based on reports from each postal commander, all Indonesia-Malaysia border markers are still legible and in good condition.
