JAKARTA - The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the West Sumatra Police (West Sumatra) arrested a woman with the initials PR (24) who practices as a health worker or fake doctor who serves beauty treatments in Padang.

The Head of Public Relations of the West Sumatra Police, Kombes Satake Bayu, said the perpetrators were arrested in the vicinity of Mount Pangilun, North Padang District, Padang, Tuesday, January 18.

This arrest was made after there was information from the public about the practice of doctors using tools, methods or other means in providing services to the community.

"The perpetrator carries out practical activities as if he is a licensed health worker in a beauty shop or studio with the initials PY and the owner is PR, even though he is neither a doctor nor a health worker," explained Bayu in Padang, Antara, Wednesday, January 19.

These perpetrators carry out eyebrow embroidery, lip embroidery, mole embroidery, eyelash installation, veneers or enhancing the appearance of teeth or whitening teeth, making dimples (dimples), fillers, botox injections, implanting threads on the nose, face or ears at a price from IDR 500,000 to IDR 5,500,000.

"Officers found tools that were supposed to be used by doctors to practice medicine, but these perpetrators did not have permission to use these tools," he said.

The woman with the initial PR only has a beauty training certificate from VAN Sulam Alis & Academy dated July 26, 2016. The letter states that the registered PR has attended the Basic Eyelash Extension course, and a certificate dated May 23, 2017 has attended a complete basic course in eyebrow and lip embroidery.

The officers secured the evidence in the form of a pack of used ampoules, a pack of medical sewing needles, a pack of medical scalpels, an impus sodium chloride to dissolve botox powder.

Then 74 single-use needles, 67 1 cc/1 millimeter syringes and various types of syringes and other medical cutting equipment as well as a statement letter of approval for action by the perpetrator.

The perpetrators are suspected of Article 78 in conjunction with Article 73 paragraph (2) of Law Number 29/2004 concerning Medical Practice and Article 83 in conjunction with Article 64 of Law Number 36/2014 concerning Health Workers with a penalty of five years imprisonment.
