JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) hopes that the achievements of the lion dance branch can skyrocket. Good organizational governance allows such expectations to be realized.
This hope was conveyed by the Chairman of the Central KONI Marciano Norman when receiving the Executive Board of the Indonesian Lion Dance Federation (PB FOBI), at the Central KONI Office, Jakarta, on Wednesday, January 19.
"We have to make the performance of the lion dance even greater," Marciano said in a statement received by VOI.
The age of lion dance as a sport is still very young. This traditional Chinese dance, which relies on agility, has only been established as a sport since 2013.
However, this sport has great potential. He is considered to have special values that have benefits for the development of national sport tourism.
"The role of lion dance for Sport Tourism is very large, making certain events that are in synergy with regional programs," said Marciano.
PB FOBI itself continues to make improvements to improve performance. One of them, the judging system that refers to international regulations.
It is planned that this year PB FOBI will hold a judging seminar. The reason is, more and more countries are starting to learn judging from Indonesia.
In addition, the national lion dance master also made a book of translations of international regulations as a guide for lion dance activists in the country.
FOBI also hopes that the lion dance will be competed in the upcoming National Sports Week (PON).
