KPK Examines Dino Patti Djalal, What Case?
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) admitted that it requested information from the former United States Ambassador Dino Patti Djalal on Tuesday, January 18 yesterday. This request is related to allegations of corruption in organizing the international Formula E racing event in Jakarta.
"It is true that the KPK is requesting information and clarification of investigation activities," said Acting Spokesperson for the KPK for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, to reporters, Wednesday, January 19.
Although he confirmed the investigation, Ali did not specify what was asked of the former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (Wamenlu) under President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. The reason is that the alleged corruption related to the racing competition is still in the process of being investigated.
"Because it's still an investigation, of course we can't convey the material," he said.
The KPK admits that it is investigating and has examined several parties related to allegations of corruption related to the implementation of the Formula E racing event.
In the midst of this investigation, the anti-corruption commission has also received several documents from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
The document contains the approval process to the preparations needed by the KPK to obtain detailed and complete information in investigating allegations of corruption in the planned international event. The submission is intended to support the monitoring of corruption prevention (MCP) to the KPK leadership.
