Update On COVID-19 As Of August 31: Positivity Rate Continues To Increase To 13.5 Percent
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 15,305 specimens were examined, as a result, there were 2,743 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 174,796 people," he was quoted as saying from data from the Ministry of Health, Monday, August 31.
Today, the percentage of positive cases based on all specimens examined stands at 13.5 percent. This figure increased from the positivity rate on August 30 by 13.4 percent, August 29 by 13.3 percent, August 28 by 13.3 percent, and August 27 by 13.2 percent.
Today's cases increased by 1,774, so that a total of 125,959 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 74 people and a total of 7,417 people.
The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1,049 new cases and a total of 40,086 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.
Furthermore, East Java has 323 new cases with a total of 33,543 cases. Central Java with 179 new cases and a total of 13,964 cases. West Java with 145 new cases and a total of 11,063 cases. Then, Bali has 129 new cases and a total of 5,207 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 404 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an increase of 383 recovered cases, Central Java with an increase of 100 recovered cases, and South Sulawesi with an increase of 87 recovered cases.
Then, there are 7 provinces that reported no new cases today. The provinces are West Kalimantan, Gorontalo, Jambi, Bangka Belitung, Bengkulu, Papua and East Nusa Tenggara.
In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined reached 2,239,642. In detail, 2,197,694 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 41,948 using molecular rapid test (TCM).
Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 79,320 people. Currently, 488 districts / cities out of 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
