Asked By Ridwan Kamil To Apologize About 'Kajati Speaks In Sundanese, Please Replace It, Sir', Arteria Dahlan: If I'm Wrong, There Is An MKD

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the House of Representatives, Arteria Dahlan, emphasized that his statement “Kajati spoke in Sundanese, sir. In a working meeting at the DPR, he did not mean to offend or discredit the Sundanese. Regarding the request for apology voiced by West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, Arteria Dahlan emphasized that there is a reporting channel, namely the House of Representatives Honorary Court (MKD).

"If I'm wrong, it's clear, the mechanism is MKD, is the statement wrong? We are a democracy, if you are not happy with my statement, go ahead. But let me also state that, it would be troublesome if members of the DPR suddenly like this. We have the mechanism, we have the channels," said Arteria Dahlan to reporters, Wednesday, January 19.

"And I can prove that what I said was not meant to discredit. This is part of our commitment, the DPR, Commission III, together with friends at the AGO, want to make sure there is no Sunda Empire in the AGO. That they were chosen because they have competence, integrity, capacity, and capability as owners or holders of strategic positions at the prosecutor's office, that's all," he said.

Therefore, Arteria Dahlan asked that his statement in the working meeting at the DPR with the Attorney General's Office be examined in its entirety, not just a snippet of a statement.

"I also want it to be looked at properly, let alone 15 minutes of my content, I'm sure many people don't like it, so I watched all the videos of the statement," he said.

Previously, Dahlan's statement was made as a criticism of the attorney general in the agenda of the DPR's Commission III Working Meeting with the attorney general on Monday, January 17. According to him, there was an official at the head of the High Court who spoke Sundanese during a work meeting.

He also asked the Attorney General to replace the head of the High Court who uses the Sundanese language. However, Arteria did not reveal who Kajati was talking about in Sundanese.

"Pak JA (Prosecutor General), there was a head of the High Prosecutor's Office in the meeting, during the working meeting he spoke in Sundanese, replace that sir. We are Indonesia," he said, as seen from the video on the DPR's YouTube account.
