Trapped In Floods, Arief Poyuono Gerindra: I'm Looking For Anies Infiltration Well, Eh There's An Overflowing Well

JAKARTA - Gerindra Party politician Arief Poyuono shared his experience of being stuck in traffic jams due to flooding on Jalan Yos Sudarso, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

On Tuesday, January 18 at noon yesterday, Arief said the car he was driving was stuck in traffic because the road was flooded by up to 40 centimeters.

"Yesterday afternoon, I was from home in Kelapa Gading going to Cempaka Putih, I took up to 3 hours by car. I couldn't enter Cempaka Putih because the flood was about 40 cm on Yos Sudarso Street. The traffic was totally jammed," he said. Arief when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, January 19.

Arief finally got out of the car and recorded a video of himself observing the flooded road. He turned out to be looking for infiltration wells that were made on the road.

He is looking for infiltration wells because it is one of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan's programs to control flooding in the capital city.

"I made the video on Twitter on Jalan Yos Sudarso. I was just looking for an infiltration well, but there's none. There is an overflowing well," said Arief.

Arief also asked Anies to be more serious in tackling the flood problem. Given that flooding is a problem that residents of the capital city continue to face from the past until now.

"Therefore, Mr. Governor, don't just talk too much about overcoming it. Jakarta is still flooded. Make infiltration wells. Infiltration wells are everywhere but they are overflowing too," he said.
