11 Regencies/Cities Of South Sumatra Potentially Heavy Rain Accompanied By Lightning

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) estimates that 11 districts/cities in South Sumatra have the potential to experience heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds of short duration on Wednesday, January 19.

The 11 regencies/cities are Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI), Banyuasin, Muara Enim, Lahat, Pagaralam, Musi Banyuasin, Musi Rawas, Empat Lawang, Ogan Ilir, Palembang, and South Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU).

The BMKG provides early warnings for residents in the 11 districts/cities to be aware of potential floods and hurricanes from day to night.

Meanwhile, in the morning the weather is predicted to be cloudy, cloudy with the potential for light rain in the OKI, Banyuasin, and Musi Banyuasin areas.

In the afternoon until the afternoon, the weather is predicted to be cloudy, with the potential for moderate to heavy rain in the OKI, Banyuasin, Muara Enim, Lahat, Pagaralam, Musi Banyuasin, Musi Rawas, Empat Lawang and South OKU areas. The potential for light rain in the areas of North Musi Rawas, Prabumulih, East OKU, Lubuk Linggau, and Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir.

At night, the weather is predicted to be cloudy and there is the potential for moderate to heavy rain in the areas of Lahat, Empat Lawang, Musi Banyuasin, Musi Rawas, Muara Enim, Ogan Ilir, OKI and Palembang.

Meanwhile, the weather with the potential for light rain at night is predicted to occur in the OKI, North Musi Rawas, PALI, Pagaralam, East OKU, South OKU, Lubuk Linggau and Banyuasin areas. OKI, Banyuasin, Musi Banyuasin, Muara Enim, Ogan Ilir, and Palembang.

Air temperature in the low-lying areas of South Sumatra around Palembang, Banyuasin, Musi Banyuasin, Ogan Ilir and OKI is estimated at 23-31 degrees Celsius with an air humidity of 65-98 percent.

The air temperature in the highlands of South Sumatra around Pagaralam, Empat Lawang, Lubuk Linggau, Lahat and South OKU is estimated at 18-30 degrees Celsius with an air humidity of 70-100 percent.

The wind moves from the west to the north at a speed of 05 - 30 km/hour.

The sea wave height in the Gelasa Strait, the northern part of the Bangka Strait and the southern part of the Bangka Strait is estimated at 1.25 – 2.50 m, the weather is expected to be light rain, the wind direction is from the Northwest to the North with a speed of 8 – 45 km/hour.
