Police Check CCTV Of Detainee, Edo Kondologit's Brother-in-Law And Examine On Duty Officers

JAKARTA - The West Papua Regional Police have formed a team to investigate whether there were any procedural errors carried out by the police in the arrest and examination of Edo Kondologit's brother-in-law, George Karel Rumbino alias Riko, who died.

"This chronology will be carried out by investigations. Whether there is member negligence, what happened, that will be straightened out," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono to reporters, Monday, August 31.

In the investigation process, they will also examine the CCTV footage that is installed around the detention cell. This is because the results of the temporary investigation, Riko, are said to have died as a result of being mistreated by a prisoner named Cece.

In addition, the duty picket officers will also be intensively examined. Because, when referring to the rules, those who are responsible for security are in the detention cell.

"Later it will be investigated. We are waiting for the results," said Awi.

Previously, the Head of the Sorong City Police, AKBP Ary Nyoto Setiawan said the results of the temporary investigation of Riko died as a result of being tortured by another detainee named Cece.

"Checked the detention room's CCTV, and it was found that the detainee on behalf of Cece had repeatedly mistreated Riko on his chest and face," said Ary.
