Woman In Jember Dies With Throat Slit, Suspected Of Being A Victim Of Robbery

JEMBER - A woman named Prita (48) from Patrang, Jember, East Java, died in the bathroom of her house with severe injuries to her neck. He was allegedly killed by robbers who raided his home.

Apart from Prita, two victims were reported to have suffered serious injuries. Both Sri Budi Asmara Rini (78) suffered cuts to the face and Benaya (35) a neighbor of the victim who tried to immobilize the robber.

In the case of an alleged robbery that took place at 14.00 WIB, Tuesday, January 17, one robber was immobilized by residents. It was revealed the identity of the perpetrator with the initials HP (31), a resident of Bedadung Village, Pakusari District, Jember.

The police explained that the perpetrator initially claimed to be an electrician. Suddenly there was a scream for help from the house.

A suspect then fled from the victim's house. Two residents tried to block until one perpetrator was arrested.

"We have arrested the alleged perpetrator. We are still examining a number of witnesses," said Jember Police Chief, AKBP Hery Purrnomo, Tuesday, January 18.

One of the residents named Benaya who was involved in the duel, he said, was injured by a kitchen knife held by the perpetrator.

"While there are three suspected victims, one of whom is a woman who died with serious injuries. We will conduct an autopsy on the deceased to determine the cause of death," he said.

Police are still examining a number of witnesses. But the police have not provided an explanation regarding the modus operandi and motive of the perpetrator slashing the victim to death.

"The modus operandi and motives of the perpetrators are still unknown, because we have to examine the alleged perpetrator first. We don't want to make assumptions outside the context of the results of the investigation," said Hery.
