Minister Of Agriculture Yasin Limpo: Poor Farmers, Only Those Who Are Not Grateful For God's Favor
JAKARTA - Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo during a working visit to North Sulawesi said the paradigm of poor and underdeveloped farmers is wrong.
"The farmer's paradigm is poor, that is wrong. The farmer is the one who is left behind, that is wrong," said Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo at a planting event as well as harvesting soy-coconut integration and corn harvesting in Tontalete Village, Kema District, North Minahasa Regency (Minut) , Monday 31 August.
The Minister of Agriculture, as reported by Antara, gave an example of people in America when hit by the COVID-19 crisis to return to farming, Japan could grow up as it is now leaving other professions and turning on agriculture because of the gripping COVID-19.
Therefore, he continued, why did North Sulawesi not take advantage of this God-given agricultural land.
"Right and right green, our sun is not easy. In other countries there are four seasons, there are cold, very cold, there is heat and spring, our four seasons are only two, tropical countries are rich countries," said Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo. .
Poor farmers, said the Minister of Agriculture, are only those who are not grateful for God's blessings that have been given to them.
"We are happy to be in North Sulawesi because the land here is fertile, fertile land promises life, unless we are among those who are not grateful for God's blessings," said Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
According to him, the sun that continues to shine and becomes a part of life, the wind blows promises that tomorrow must be better, and the water that falls every time becomes God's promise for the presence of life that must be better, tomorrow is better than today and yesterday.
"Therefore, agriculture is something that can always promise people a better life and can survive," said Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
