MTV VMA Tribute To Chadwick Boseman And Naya Rivera

JAKARTA - The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) was held on Sunday, August 30, United States time. Although this event was held to appreciate artists in the music industry, they gave respect to commemorate Chadwick Boseman.

Chadwick Boseman, an actor known as the Black Panther film player, died on Saturday, August 29 of his colon cancer. He died at the age of 43.

Keke Palmer as MTV VMA host opened the awards ceremony by saying, "We need to discuss the departure of Chadwick Boseman, an actor with passion and talent who is an inspiration to fans and everyone he meets."

“We dedicate tonight's event to a man who touches many hearts. He is a real superhero, not only on the big screen but in whatever he does, ”continued Palmer.

Then, MTV broadcast a video of Chadwick Boseman's award for Best Hero at the MTV Movie & TV Awards for his work in the film Black Panther.

"To be rewarded for playing a superhero is extraordinary, but even more great to know there is a superhero figure that we have in the real world," said Chadwick when giving his Best Hero trophy to James Shaw Jr., a man who thwarted the action of a gunman in Waffle House in 2018.

At that time, he gave the trophy while saying. “You saved many lives. This (Cup) will live in your house! ”

Then, MTV also broadcast a tribute video for Naya Rivera, the actress who died on July 13 after drowning in Lake Piru, California.

Previously, the Grammy awards ceremony also paid tribute to Kobe Bryant and Nipsey Hussle who died earlier this year.
