Vice Mayor Of Surabaya Meets Principal Who Offends Student Guardians 'Poor Why Necist Clothes' When Asking For Free Uniforms
SURABAYA - Deputy Mayor of Surabaya Armuji visited SDN Tegalsari I to clarify a complaint from parents regarding free school uniforms for low-income people.
"I hope that Surabaya residents who are MBR will receive the best service, not only for school operational needs, but also complete information on the Surabaya City Government program," said Deputy Guardian (Wawali) Armuji while at SDN Tegalsari I quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 18.
Armuji admitted that he received a complaint from one of the guardians of SDN Tegalsari I with the initials SR at his official residence, Monday, January 17 evening.
The student guardian complained about the treatment of the local school principal which was deemed inappropriate when he asked about the rights of students registered in the Low-Income Community (MBR) database.
At that time, the student's parents asked about the requirements and how to get the free uniform facility, but the principal explained that the MBR data was in the Surabaya Education Office. While the recipients of the free uniforms are MBR data 2020.
"Words that are considered inappropriate when the principal says the guardian of the student is poor, but how come they are dressed neatly and carry cellphones, there are still many poor people under them," said Armuji imitating SR's statement.
Finding this, Armuji in between his routines visited SDN Tegalsari I with the intention of clarifying the incident experienced by SR.
"We hope that school principals throughout Surabaya can provide good information to residents, treat them like our own children," he said.
The Principal of SDN Tegalsari I Siti Umiyatun said, sorry for the inconvenience and mistakes and promised to provide the best service for MBR students.
"I think the problem is resolved and clear. I hope it doesn't happen again," he said.
