One Makassar Citizen Killed By Warning Shots, 11 Police Inspected By Propam

JAKARTA - Bullets from police warning shots hit 3 residents of Makassar, South Sulawesi. One resident named Anjas died in medical treatment at the hospital.

Propam is now intervening to investigate suspected procedural errors in handling the mass. A total of 11 police officers were questioned at the South Sulawesi Police (Sulsel) Propam.

"Those who were questioned at Propam yesterday were 11 people. They were present at the TKP (scene of the case) during the rescue of members, "said Makassar Port Police Chief AKBP Muhammad Kadarislam Kasim when contacted by VOI, Monday, August 31.

This incident began when police personnel Bripka Usman — a member of the Ujung Tanah Police — investigated the beating case in Ujung Tanah District, Makassar on Sunday, August 30 in the morning. When meeting a group of youths, Bripka Usman was asked his identity.

“Suddenly he was beaten and then beaten up. Bripka Usman fled, "said Kadarislam.

Bripka Usman was then rescued by members who were patrolling the area. After the situation calmed down, Bripka Usman returned to the location. But again the masses gathered and attacked.

"There was shot warning," he continued.

However, recently the police warning shots hit three residents, namely Ammar, Iqbal and Anjas. Anjas was declared dead in medical treatment at the hospital.

"Hit the head," said Kadarislam, who is usually called Iccang.
