Banten Earthquake Causes Damage In 166 Villages
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy said the Banten earthquake caused damage in as many as 166 villages/kelurahan in 48 sub-districts.
"The earthquake that occurred on January 14, 2022, as we know it has affected 48 sub-districts in 166 villages or sub-districts. The worst ones were in Sumur, Cikeusik, Cimanggu, Pandeglang and Lebak districts," he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday. , January 18th.
His party appreciated the efforts of ministries and institutions that had taken emergency response steps well.
"Relevant ministries and institutions have implemented good steps as we expected, especially at the disaster response stage, disaster emergency response, especially the Ministry of Social Affairs and BNPB, the Ministry of Health has carried out their duties well together with the Pandeglang Regency government. and Lebak and supported by the TNI and Polri," he said.
Muhadjir added that currently discussions with related parties are focused on rehabilitation and reconstruction.
The government is considering relocating several heads of families who own houses in disaster-prone areas.
There are several suggestions from the Regent of Pandeglang, especially regarding the possibility of relocating several heads of families to be moved to a safer place.
"Because coincidentally the place of residence is classified as a fault line which is very vulnerable to being affected by disasters," he said.
Muhadir said this proposal would later be discussed together with the relevant ministries/institutions.
In addition, the government will also repair damaged public infrastructure, especially school buildings, health centers and places of worship.
"We will prioritize schools and madrasas to be repaired immediately in addition to health centers and mosques, places of worship, and then to other public facilities," continued Muhadjir.
