Vice President: Artificial Intelligence Is A Solution For The State To Welcome Industry 4.0
JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said artificial intelligence was a solution for the country in welcoming the Industrial Revolution 4.0, so that Indonesia would no longer be a market in the industry.
"Artificial intelligence is a way out so that the state does not just become a market, but also as an actor of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution," said Ma'ruf Amin when delivering his remarks at the Introduction to the Atma Jaya Unika Campus, Jakarta, reported by Antara, Monday, August 31.
According to him, artificial intelligence can be used to develop new business models, and it can be created with the mastery of science and technology that continues to evolve.
Future development, according to the Vice President, will be greatly influenced by disruption in various sectors of community life.
"The strengthening of the use of artificial intelligence, the use of big data, and the use of information and communication technology will cause development to no longer be linear, but rather exponentially growing rapidly," he said.
According to him, the breadth of the cooperation network between universities and the industrial sector is also a support for successful development.
"Cooperation with various related parties must continue to be carried out in various fields to produce the best works of the nation," he said.
In addition, to become a player in industry 4.0, Indonesia must have superior quality human resources (HR). Having such quality human resources, said Ma'ruf, is indicated by the large number of workers who are university graduates.
Referring to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the number of Indonesians who continue their education to the university level is low.
"Of the 137.90 million people aged 15 years who work, according to February 2020 labor force data, only around 14.22 million people or only 10.3 percent of them are university graduates," he said.
Therefore, Ma'ruf Amin hopes that all students and teaching staff in the Atma Jaya Unika campus can bring better changes in the community through the application of knowledge, knowledge, and exemplary.
