The Case Of Travel Agents From Bogor Who Abandoned Tourists In Labuan Bajo Packages Should Be A Lesson Not To Be Tempted By Cheap Prices
KUPANG - A number of travel agents or travel agents in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, NTT assessed that the incident of fraudulent travel agents that occurred in the area was a lesson for tourists to be more careful in choosing travel agents.
"Yes, so the incident of bogus travel agents is a lesson for tourists to be more careful in choosing a travel agent. Check and recheck first whether it is credible or not," said Nusa Flores Wisata Travel Agent Robert Waka, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 18.
According to him, the incident of the fake travel agent, even though the travel agent's location is in Bogor, West Java, still damages the image of Labuan Bajo as a super priority tourist area.
In particular, it damaged the image of the tourist boats in Labuan Bajo, especially the chartered boats of the travel agents, which had banned tourists from getting off the ship because the trip fees had not been paid for by the travel agents.
"If you look at it, it's definitely quite damaging the name or image of the tourist boat in Labuan Bajo with this incident," continued Robert, who is also the deputy chairman of the DPD Association of Indonesian Flight Ticket Sales Companies (Astindo) NTT.
According to him, the ship was not wrong in doing this, because the ship's owner has not been paid after traveling around the Komodo National Park.
According to him, anyone and anywhere can create a travel agent or travel agent. Therefore, tourists should choose a travel agent whose domicile is in Labuan Bajo.
"Indonesian people are less literate. Then they also like cheap ones, so if there are cheap ones, they are immediately taken without looking at how credible the travel agent is," he said.
His party wants the abandonment of a number of tourists, as happened some time ago in Labuan Bajo, not to happen again in various other tourist destinations in NTT.
The abandonment of tourists was carried out by a tour operator agent Cakrawala Traveler who came from Bogor, West Java, who was then sanctioned by the Tourism, Creative Economy and Culture Office of West Manggarai Regency in the form of a ban on selling Labuan Bajo tour packages for 1 year.
