Allegedly Harassing Rape Victims While Reporting, Central Java Police Chief Removes Boyolali Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Eko Marudin

SEMARANG - Central Java (Central Java) Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi removed the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Kasat Reskrim) of the Boyolali Police AKP Eko Marudin for alleged harassment of rape victims when reporting to the police.

"It has been removed, replaced by AKP Donna Briyadi," said the Central Java Police Chief in a press release in Semarang, reported by Antara, Tuesday, January 18.

Eko was then transferred as a mid-level officer at the Central Java Police Headquarters Service (Yanma) to undergo the examination process.

The Regional Police Chief apologized to the victim for the ethical violation committed by his subordinates.

He ensured that AKP Eko and other members involved would be processed by the Propam Division of the Central Java Police.

This decisive action, he continued, is a form of learning for members of the Police. "Police are always committed to always provide the best service for the community," he said.

He emphasized that anyone who is a member of the National Police who commits a violation will be processed according to applicable regulations.

Previously, a woman with the initials R (28) from Simo, Boyolali, admitted to having received unpleasant treatment from one of the police officers at the Boyolali Police Station when she reported her alleged rape on Monday, January 17.
