Barack Obama Recalls Chadwick Boseman's Departure

JAKARTA - Former US President Barack Obama is sorry for the loss of the "Black Panther" star, Chadwick Boseman. Through his Twitter account, Obama recalled his meeting with Boseman at the White House.

Obama remembers Boseman when the actor visited the White House in 2013, when he became famous for playing Jackie Robinson in the biographical film "42".

"Chadwick came to the White House to work with children when he played as Jackie Robinson. You can tell right away that he is blessed," wrote Obama, as seen by VOI, Sunday, August 30.

"Being young, talented, and black; using that power to give them a hero they should respect; doing it all while in pain - how useful the years were," he continued.

The former president's words were shared in response to Boseman's own post from 2016, the actor attaching a 2013 photo of himself and Obama as a "Throwback Thursday" photo.

"Thank you for your dedication and advice," Boseman told Obama at the time, who later described himself and the former US leader as "prince and president."

The King of Wakanda has been battling colon cancer since 2016. During his illness, Boseman never disclosed it to the public. He always looks healthy while playing in the films he has starred in so far.
