Police Unload Fake COVID-19 Test Practices At Makassar Beauty Clinic
MAKASSAR - The Rappocini Police Team uncovered the practice of a fake Asphalt COVID-19 test run by the HOB beauty clinic, on Jalan Andi Djemma, Makassar, South Sulawesi.
"Currently it is in the process of being investigated and the case has been handled at the Makassar Polrestabes," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Rappocini Police, AKP Moh Arifin as quoted by Antara, Monday, January 17.
From the information received, the disclosure of the practice of COVID-19 testing services, both PCR and antigen tests without having to undergo tests, started with a report by a new employee at the local clinic that his cellphone was missing.
The Resmob team then conducted an investigation and searched until they found a cellphone with evidence of a conversation between the clinic owner with the initials CMW doctor on social media messages.
There was a conversation on the cellphone regarding the alleged manufacture of PCR test results and the COVID-19 antigen was allegedly made illegally to be used as a logging document.
In addition, from the testimony of the witness with the initials AI, who had only worked for a week at the clinic, he did know that the Corona test was made since the results were imposed by the government as a condition for prospective passengers to travel by plane at the airport.
The cost set for the PCR test is between Rp. 700 thousand to Rp. 900 thousand. While the antigen test is Rp. 200 thousand to Rp. 400 thousand without having to be tested. The alleged perpetrator is now being detained at the Makassar Polrestabes for further investigation.
The evidence confiscated by officers during the search on Friday, January 14, 2022, were five mobile phones, one iPad, one printer, one computer monitor and its devices and three units of debit card banking.
