5 Kiosks In Merangin Jambi Caught Fire After Being Hit By A Car Carrying Fuel, Two People Suffered Burns
JAMBI - A car carrying fuel oil (BBM) in Merangin Regency hit five kiosks in front of the 25,373.29 Sungai Misang gas station, Bangko Hamlet, and caused a fire that consumed the kiosk and the car.
"The fire occurred at around 05.00 WIB and there were no casualties. Only a few stall owners suffered burns and have been treated at a local hospital," said Merangin Police Chief AKBP Irwan Andy Purnamawan in an official statement received by Jambi, reported by Antara, Monday, January 17th.
He said that the temporary suspicion of the cause of the fire was because the kiosk was hit by a fuel tanker with the license plate number B9142SFU.
"After the tanker hit the kiosk, sparks arose, causing a fire," said the police chief.
The first kiosk that was hit by a car carrying fuel was a kiosk belonging to Juanda (45) which caught fire and immediately grabbed the other four stalls. The driver of the fuel tanker was named Erwin Agung.
He added that the stall owner suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Two people suffered burns, the other had minor injuries and the case is being handled by the Merangin Police.
