Medina Zein Becomes A Hate Speech Suspect But Not Arrested By Polda Metro, How Come?

JAKARTA - The celebrity Medina Zein has been named a suspect in the alleged hate speech case against Marissya Icha. However, Medina Zein was decided not to be arrested.

"(Medina Zein, ed) Not detained," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters, Monday, January 17.

The decision not to detain Medina Zein was due to various reasons. One of them, being cooperative during the investigation and investigation of the case.

"The considerations in the Criminal Procedure Code are not running away, will not lose evidence, will not repeat his actions, and be cooperative," said Zulpan

On the other hand, in the process Medina Zein has also been investigated as a suspect. However, the results of the inspection were not disclosed. "It's been checked," said Zulpan.

Medina Zein was named a suspect in the alleged defamation case. The determination of the suspect was carried out after mediation efforts failed to produce results.

"Today the Polda Metro Jaya Directorate of General Crime has named sister Medina Zein as a suspect in connection with defamation," said Zulpan.

The determination of the suspect against Medina Zein must go through a fairly long process. This is because investigators had opened a space between Medina Zein and the reporter, Marissya Icha, for mediation.

However, the mediation process did not find an amicable agreement. Thus, investigators named Medina Zein as a suspect.

"Investigators have opened a space for mediation to them. But apparently there is no way of peace there," said Zulpan.

"So, the case continues and today investigators have named Medina Zein's sister as a suspect," he continued.
