The UN Unpaid Sign Sticker Is Clearly Displayed At The Entrance Of The XXI Cinema Blok M Square

JAKARTA - Kebayoran Baru District, South Jakarta, put up a sign in the form of a notification sticker at Cinema XXI Mall Blok M Square for not paying land and building tax (PBB).

The Head of the Kebayoran Baru Sub-district, Tomy Fudihartono, in his written statement received said that the sticker installation had been carried out since November 2, 2021.

"This is not related to PPKM but is related to PBB payments," he said, Monday, January 17, as reported by Antara.

According to Tomy, the shopping center has not paid the PBB since November 2021, but the mall's operations can still run, which will be subject to a monthly fine until the tax is paid off.

"Yes, he will be fined two percent every month. So it's not because of the subject but because of the object. The subject is the cinema business, but if the object is the building, he hasn't paid taxes," he said.

According to him, the delay in paying taxes was influenced by the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, which had brought business activities to a halt.

Until now, the sticker indicating that the tax has not been paid is still affixed to the glass at the entrance of the XXI Blok M Square cinema.

"This tax object has not paid local taxes," the warning reads.

Tomy suspects that the cinema in Blok M Square is in arrears in taxes because there is no income due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Meanwhile, Head of Corporate Communications & Brand Management of Cineme XXI, Dewinta Hutagaol, said that the affixing of the sign was a building tax with the object of tax (NOP) that had not been paid was the location rented by Cinema XXI.

Therefore, the payment of the tax is the responsibility of the Blok M Square manager.

"The taxes that are the responsibility of Cinema XXI are the entertainment tax and the restaurant tax. We have completed these obligations every month," Dewinta said in a written statement received Monday.
