Bad News From NTT, West Manggarai Becomes The Region With The Highest DHF Cases
KUPANG - The Department of Health, Population and Civil Registration (DKKPS) of East Nusa Tenggara Province reported that as of Monday, January 17 afternoon, West Manggarai Regency was the area with the most cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in the province.
"Of the 22 regencies/cities in NTT, West Manggarai is the district with the highest dengue cases, namely 96 cases," said the Head of the NTT DKKPS, Dr Mese Ataupah in Kupang, as reported by Antara, Monday, January 17.
This was conveyed by him related to the development of dengue cases in NTT considering that currently a number of dengue cases occur in the island-based province.
Mese said, of the 96 cases of dengue fever, 86 patients have been declared cured, while 10 others are still being treated.
"Currently, based on the data we have received, there are only 10 people who are still being treated. We hope that they will recover quickly," he said.
He said that so far, the total number of dengue cases in NTT has reached 347 cases with two deaths.
"The two who died were in Sikka Regency and also in Nagekeo Regency," he added.
Of the 347 cases, 260 have recovered and 85 are still being treated. Furthermore, he said, Kupang City is the city with the second highest number of dengue cases, with a total of 63 cases.
Meanwhile, the third place is Sikka Regency with the number of cases reaching 50 cases and there is one person who died.
With so many dengue cases in NTT, Mese urges the public to keep their environment clean and to always implement the 3M program, which is draining, closing and recycling used goods.
