Pickpocketing Action In Pulogadung Terminal Area Caught On Camera, After Viral Police Chase Perpetrators
JAKARTA – The pickpocketing at Pulogadung Terminal, East Jakarta was caught on camera by car drivers. In the video recording, the perpetrator who uses a motorbike reaches into the backpack worn by the victim while riding a motorbike.
Pulogadung Police Chief AKP David said his party immediately checked the crime scene (TKP) after a video of a pickpocket went viral on social media.
"Regarding the video circulating on social media, we have immediately checked the TKP until now. Based on the image in the video, the TKP is near the Pulogadung terminal," AKP David told reporters at the scene, Monday, January 17.
From the results of the crime scene and the statements of witnesses, the police have known the identity of the pickpocket.
"Currently, our team has suspected the identity of the perpetrator in the video. Our team is pursuing the perpetrator," he said.
The police chief also said that so far no victims have reported the incident to the Pulogadung Police.
However, the police are still on the scene to carry out an investigation.
"Until now there has been no victim reporting, we continue to go to the crime scene because it is related to news that has gone viral on social media," he said.
After the identity of the perpetrator was pocketed by the police, the perpetrator was being searched.
"We are still hunting. We already suspect the perpetrators who often circulate in this area," he said.
