Tomorrow, Tangerang District Court Holds Trial Of Class I Prison Fire Case That Killed 49 Inmates
TANGERANG - The case of the Tangerang Class 1 A Youth Prison fire that killed 49 inmates will be tried at the Tangerang District Court tomorrow, Tuesday 18 January. This was conveyed directly by the Public Relations of the Tangerang District Court, Arif Budi Cahyono.
"Tomorrow January 18, 2022 (Lapas Fire Session)," said Arif when confirmed, Monday, January 17.
Arif said Ajir Suryo who will be the chairman of the panel of judges, Elly Istianawati and Ismail became member judges.
"Anyway, the panel of room 1. The judge who tried Aji Suryo (and) Elly Istianawati, the member judge, Ismail," he said.
On this occasion, Arif admitted that he did not know whether the suspects would attend the trial in person or online or offline.
"Ask the prosecutor whether it is presented directly or online," he said.
For information, as many as 4 suspects were named suspects in the Tangerang Class 1 prison fire case which killed 49 inmates.
Head of the General Crime Section of the Tangerang City Prosecutor's Office, Dapot Dariarma, said that the case handled by the Polda Metro Jaya had been transferred to the Banten High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati).
"Next week, it will be transferred to the Tangerang District Court and the prosecutor's office is currently preparing to prosecute in court," Dapot said in a text message, Saturday, January 1.
He explained that the four suspects named SU, RS, YW and PB will undergo trial at the Tangerang District Court.
"The trial process will be held at the Tangerang District Court," he said.
For information, the Polda Metro Jaya investigation team has named three suspects with the initials RU, S, and Y.
The three are Tangerang Class 1 Lapas officers who are suspected of Article 359 of the Criminal Code regarding negligence causing someone to die.
In its development, the police also named three suspects, namely the initials JMN, PB, and RS.
The three include inmates, prison staff, and the general section of the Tangerang Class 1 prison.
The suspects were charged with Article 188 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Articles 55 and 56 of the Criminal Code regarding negligence that caused the fire.
