BPBD Lebak: 274 Houses Damaged Due To Tectonic Earthquake

JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Lebak Regency, Banten Province recorded as many as 274 houses were damaged due to a 6.6 magnitude tectonic earthquake.

"We are still collecting data by involving sub-district officials, villages and volunteers," said Head of BPBD Lebak Regency, Febby Rizky Pratama, quoted by Antara, Sunday, January 16.

The impact of the tectonic earthquake, which was centered in the Well Waters of Pandeglang Regency, was quite strong, because hundreds of houses in Lebak Regency were damaged.

Based on data received from the Lebak BPBD, it was recorded that 274 houses were damaged by the tremors of the earthquake.

Of the 274 houses, 16 houses were heavily damaged, 32 houses were moderately damaged and 226 houses were slightly damaged.

In addition, the earthquake also caused damage to eight school buildings, one government office and six places of worship.

It is likely that the number of houses damaged by the tectonic earthquake will increase, because the officers are still collecting data.

So far, no casualties have been found due to the natural disaster in Lebak Regency.

"We only received two residents who were injured as a result of falling houses, but now their condition has improved after being treated by local medical personnel," he explained.
