Doorprize Prepared By Polda Metro For Street Racers To Prevent Gambling
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya as the organizer of the street motorcycle racing event in the Ancol area, North Jakarta, provides prizes in the form of "door prizes" for racers to prevent gambling practices.
Director of Traffic Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said that the provision of prizes is not only to anticipate gambling events, but also to increase the enthusiasm of racing participants.
"Yes, we are here to hold door prizes. With the door prizes, there are motorbikes, TVs, and so on. There are lots of partners (sponsors)," said Sambodo, quoted by Antara, Sunday, January 16.
Sambodo explained that there were at least 350 racers who took part in the inaugural "Street Race" joint training held by Polda Metro Jaya.
This joint practice of street racing uses the concept of a "drag race" with a track of 500 meters and 300 meters for braking.
During the practice with the Polda Metro Jaya Street Race, there were 350 racers divided into seven classes, namely 4-stroke automatic, 2-stroke sport, Sunmori class, 2-stroke duck, 4-stroke duck, FFA class, and 4-stroke sport.
"So this title is a joint exercise, not a competition, that's why we don't see the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners. The important thing is that they can just withdraw, not counting the time and others," said Sambodo.
For the next activity, Polda Metro Jaya plans to hold it in the Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) area, Serpong, South Tangerang.
Polda Metro Jaya and the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) will first review the feasibility of the location as a race track.
"This is the first event, a trial and error trial, hopefully in the future the implementation can be better and even two days, Saturday and Sunday. If this is only one day," said Sambodo.
